Breast cancer

Cancer is caused by changes to DNA. Most cancer-causing DNA changes occur in sections of DNA called genes. These changes are also called genetic changes.

About

What is breast cancer?

Breast cancer can be seen various many people, mainly people who have a history of breast cancer in there family but breast cancer is just cancer in which cells in the breast grow out of control and can have different kinds of breast cancer's that can begin in different parts of the breast.

Some symptoms that are caused by breast cancer are abnormal things popping up near the area of the breasts for example, New lumps near breast/armpit, Thickening/swelling of the breast, Irritation, and redness near the nipple area. The result of breast cancer can lead to devestating effects on your health, untreated cancer can spread to other parts of your body like the brain, bones, liver, and lungs but also including long term effects like chronic pain. And lastly the best way to prevent cancer is to be healthy, be physically active, do everything in moderation and take the right medication.

Even as a dangerous disease there are some fun facts that come with it. Did you know? That breast cancer has been called "nun's disease" for the abnormal amount of cases of nuns having breast cancer. Another fact is that like you and me, dogs and cats can also get breast cancer but it is more aggressive to cats. Weirdly enough wasp dung/poop was an ancient treatment for breast cancer. For history nerds the first recorded case of breast mastectomy was 1,500 years ago (A.D. 548). And finally men, yes men can get breast cancer but the lifetime risk of breast cancer is 1 in 1,000.

Cell cycle

According to the national human genome research institute the cell cycle is a cycle that properly shows the proccess when cells inevitably replicate. There are different stages that are G1, S, and G2, G1 is the stage when the cell begins to divide. S is the stage when the DNA is copied and theres an entire set of new genetic material for the cell. Most importantly stage G2 begins organizing all of the genetic material including the DNA then finilizing the divide. Lastly the stage M where cell divides into 2 copies which make 2 sister cells.

Why do cells eventually need to divide?

According to the Informed health resource the reason cells need to divide is for your body to grow and body tisssue, for example skin to renew itself. Cells also can devide to replace a damaged cell.

Interphase

Interphase is argubly the most longest section of the cell cycle where the cell grows and copies it's own DNA before going through mitsosis.

Mitosis

Mitosis is the stage at when the cell copies it's chromosomes then segregates them creating two identical nuclei to prepare for cell divison.

Cytokinesis

Cytokinesis is the stage of the cell cycle at when the cell has to seperate the chromosomes and the cytoplasm yielding two daughter cells.
